Volunteer and help shape the future of the Landscape Institute
Landscape professionals play a vital role in connecting people, place and nature to deliver positive outcomes for society. They are at the forefront of addressing some of the biggest challenges facing society today. Under our refreshed Corporate Strategy and three Strategic Outcomes, we are raising our profile and impact externally, providing professional development for our members, and attracting a new generation of landscape professionals.
As part of this, the Landscape Institute has some new opportunities for members to steer and get involved in our work, helping deliver our Strategy and strengthen the profession. We are recruiting to two Standing Committees and to 4 Task and Finish Groups which play a vital part in shaping our work, from steering our policy work, to developing technical guidance or updating our Competency Framework and Branches.
Standing Committees
We are currently recruiting to the following 2 Standing Committees:
- Policy & Public Affairs
- Membership & Professional Standards
We will be recruiting to the remaining two Standing Committees – Knowledge & Practice and Education & Careers – in the coming weeks following the announcement of their new Chairs.

We are currently recruiting to the following Task and Finish Groups:
- Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (GLVIA)

The LI is working, under our Corporate Strategy, to raise our profile externally, providing professional development for our members, and attract a new generation of landscape professionals. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and we can’t achieve the changes we want without the combined knowledge and experience of our members.
Please get involved to help shape your profession and in the process build your skills, knowledge and network.
