About this award
The Dame Sylvia Crowe award is open to both UK and international entries, and celebrates excellence in landscape practice worldwide. This category recognises outstanding contributions in any aspect of landscape work, including projects, designs, management plans, delivery, or research that develops knowledge, learning, and societal benefit.
This award category acknowledges major achievements that have positively impacted people, places, and nature through innovative landscape-led approaches.
Entries should include the involvement of relevant landscape professionals or academics, such as members of IFLA member organisations or local professional bodies.
This award is open to different types of landscape works, including (but not necessarily limited to):
- Strategic Design: concept/outline
- Detailed Design: Technical / Construction
- Design implementation

Judging criteria
The Small to Medium Project and Large Project awards will be scored by an independent panel of judges against our Judging Criteria:
- Sustainability
- Value
- Professionalism
- The relevant aspects of the Design criteria
Limitations
- Open to LI Members & Non LI Members
- Open to any individual, organisation, employer, government or university or combination of groups to enter
- The work must be a Large project from 10ha+
- Part of the awarded activity must have taken place between July 2022 and July 2026
- The work may be a stand-alone project or form part of a larger project
